Import/Export - Key findings

Import and export of energy commodities are very crucial to the sustainability of every economy. The aggregated export of energy commodities from the nation over the last half a decade has been about twice the aggregated import of energy commodities into the nation. This is mainly due to the commercial production of oil and gas from the nation’s three offshore producing fields discovered since 2007, namely: Jubilee, Tweneboa, Enyere and Ntomme (TEN) and Sankofa and Gye Nyame Field. This has, on the average, reduced the nation’s over dependence on importation of energy commodities and thus improving the security of energy supply.
